209 is in a nice location downtown, has a lot of comfortable seating, art, and coffee as well as drinks. It's a bar where you can go and have a drink without feeling like you have to get wasted to have fun. Sunday nights are my favorite, when a lot of talented folks come out for karaoke. They have the Big Gay Sing-a-long at midnight. If you participate, you get a free shot!
it's ok
A great space and location that seems to cater more to str8 women than gays. Pricey drinks and a very, very young crowd. Nice patio, but terrible service.
It's an Art Bar
Club 209 is an Art Bar in the Brady Arts District of Midtown Tulsa that caters to a gay crowd. If you want a "straight" gay bar, this isn't the place. It's usually quiet. A good place to talk and have a drink. There is a new one-person show every month and it's part of the "First Friday Arts Walk" in the district. Not for everyone, but if you like art, conversation, a cozy place to settle in, and occasionally a slow dance, it's the place for you.
expensive and boring
Odd crowd of pretentious guys and bitchy str8 chicks. What's with this town and str8s going to gay bars? Expensive cocktails by ok looking bartenders. For the amount of gays in this town, they really need to get it together.
nice place to grab a drink
the bar itself looks great. the drink prices very high compaired to the other bars. it just feels like something is missing there... i cannot explain it... it was like the few peple there were pretending to have fun and not really enjoying themselfs. i did like the patio and the fireplace.
