Out2Enroll, the coordinated effort to educate the lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender (LGBT) community about the Affordable Care Act and direct the community to enrollment resources, is pleased to announce a new event in Tulsa, Oklahoma on March 19th, 2014 to help the LGBT community in the Tulsa area understand their new coverage options.
The regional event, cosponsored by Out2Enroll and the US Department of Health and Human Services, will feature remarks and presentations from officials from the White House, national experts on efforts to engage the LGBT community in enrollment activities, and local community stakeholders and partners. Oklahomans for Equality and the Dennis R. Neill Equality Center are the host for the event.
On Wednesday, March 19th at the Equality Center, the event will consist of an afternoon and evening program. From 1:30 pm to 3:30 pm, there will be an informational session on effective outreach and enrollment of the LGBT community designed for navigators, certified application counselors, social workers, and other consumer assistance personnel.
Following this training, there will be a public town hal meetingl on the Affordable Care Act from 6:30 pm to 8:00 pm, which will feature remarks and presentations from federal officials, national experts, and local community stakeholders. This portion of the event is open to the community and LGBT individuals and families are encouraged to join to learn more about their options and ways then can enroll in coverage.
